Whats in the Box?

The ZTE T84 / Telstra Tough Max comes with

  • AC Charger
  • USB data cable
  • Stereo headset with microphone
  • Warranty Card

Official ZTE Accessories are limited at this time to those that are supplied in the box with the handset, see the Accessories page for purchasing and availability of any additionally announced accessories.

One accessory that was being looked at and a concept design produced is what would be the official ZTE Cradle for the T84. This cradle design supports both the RF direct connection and Wireless charging functionality. No release date is available, but if you think this accessory is a must have then feel free to contact us and / or Telstra directly to show there is a requirement for this type of accessory.

Also on the subject of Wireless Charging, ZTE is looking at making available a Wireless Charging pad accessory. If you have any interest in these contact us directly for an update if there is no news on our Accessory page itself.

ZTE approved Patch leads for the T84 are not currently available while we wait for a decision on the cradle, which is the correct accessory for use with the external RF switch connector that we use on our handsets. Patch leads in general provide increased risk of damage to handsets if not housed in a cradle accessory to both restrict insertion forces / angles and alignment. As the connectors used do not themselves grab or hold with any force onto each other, it is the cradle accessory that holds the entire handset in place.

If you have opinions on patch leads that differ from ZTE that is fine, but as the designer and manufacturer of the devices that are created based on a requirement from our customers (ie the carriers), we defend our position and will always protect the devices from the possibility of Out of Warranty damage caused by third party accessories or misuse of device connection ports / Switch connectors. The external RF Switch Connector used in our handsets that support external RF connections is designed for use with Cradles that provide the mechanical hold and positioning of the handset to protect said port from the chance of external abuse / damage. This has been ZTE's position for 10years and it remains the same today.

Third party's do make patch leads with slim fitting variations on the RF connector that we would use in cradle designs. We recommend none of them due to the unrestricted positioning or mechanical forces that they allow a user to apply to the Handset RF Switch Connector part directly and any damage made to this port is outside of warranty and considered physical damage as per detailed in our warranty cards (see item 6 points).
